MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) - WHO Regional Director for Europe Zsuzsanna Jakab will attend the European Ministerial Conference of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Belarus, BelTA learnt from head of the external affairs department of the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus Anatoly Grushkovsky.

Minsk will also welcome healthcare ministers of the WHO European region, top-ranking officials, key partners, experts and representatives of the international (WHO, UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA and others), intergovernmental and non-government organizations, observers, national and foreign media. Participation has been confirmed by 13 ministers, 9 deputy ministers, 47 heads of health organizations, 42 representatives of the World Health Organization, 9 representatives of the UN agencies. A total of 196 participants have been registered for the conference.

Guests will be invited to a reception on behalf of the Belarusian government. Those who would voice their wish to visit certain health organizations will be given such an opportunity.

The WHO European Ministerial Conference on the Life-course Approach in the Context of Health 2020 will take place at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee in Minsk on 21-22 October. The organization of such an important event in Minsk proves the WHO high assessment of the healthcare system of Belarus.
