MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Students of Belarusian State University (BSU) have received scholarships from the game development company Wargaming. The awards ceremony featuring students, researchers from BSU, and the IT indsutry was held on 8 October, BelTA learned from the BSU press service.
The Wargaming scholarship contest was held for the fourth time. This year, Wargaming increased the number of scholarships from 16 to 24 and expanded the list of participating faculties. This year’s winners include second-, third-, and fourth-year students of the faculties of mathematics and computer science, radiophysics and computer technologies, chemistry, mechanics and mathematics, biology, and physics. Winners were decided on the basis of their academic grades and involvement in scientific research.
Wargaming co-founder, deputy head for the development of the company Game Stream Vladimir Kisly presented an individual award to Anatoly Kokhan, a five-year student of the Faculty of Physics who has already published twelve research papers and won three scholarships from Wargaming.
The scholarship can be used for research, for example, to purchase the necessary materials and relevant literature.
The first Wargaming scholarship contest took place in 2019. It is meant to support talented students with the aim to create a cluster of youth ideas and projects in various fields.
