MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – The Vyasnovy Buket (Spring Bouquet) fair will kick off a season of the festivals of national cultures in the Belarusian capital on 26 May, BelTA learned from the main department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Minsk City Hall.
The event will gather craftsmen from across Belarus in the Upper Town of Minsk. The fair will feature traditional crafts such as woodcarving, pottery, weaving, embroidery, lacework, blacksmithing, beadwork, skin, birch bark, and wool procesing, jewelry art, and many more. A wide variety of the Belarusian national cuisine will be on display as well.
The festival will include various competitions and master classes, the performance of local music and dance bands, including Khoroshki Dance Company and Kupalinka Folk Band.
The event is organized by the Belarusian Culture Ministry, Minsk City Hall and the Belarusian Union of Craftsmen.
The 2018 summer tourist season will include festivals of cultures of Sweden, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Moldova, Israel, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, South Korea, Italy, Armenia, and, for the first time, the UK and Estonia.
The summer music and tourist season kicked off in Minsk on 5 May with the traditional project Pedestrian Precinct. The Pedestrian Precinct first appeared in Karl Marks Street in summer 2012. Later, it moved to the Upper Town.
