MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian Volleyball Federation and the Volleyball Federation of Russia will expand cooperation in training promising young players. The matter was discussed at the meeting between Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Belarusian Volleyball Federation Vladimir Vashchenko and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Volleyball Federation of Russia Nikolai Patrushev in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The two federations have been fruitfully cooperating in the development of volleyball.
The parties plan to conclude an agreement on cooperation in the near future. Vladimir Vashchenko and Nikolai Patrushev discussed the participation of Belarusian clubs (men’s and women’s) in the Superleague 2017/2018, the status of Belarusian athletes taking part in the Russian championship, the organization of training camps in volleyball and beach volleyball, tournaments among veterans, coach and referee seminars.
Belarus hosts various international tournaments of the Eastern-European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) and the European Volleyball Confederation. In November 2017 Belarusian U18 volleyball players won the EEVZA championship for the first time. The competitions were held in Minsk with the participation of the teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine.
