North European films of different genres will be screened at the cinema house at 19.00 every day from 23 till 29 April. The program of the festival features Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, and Icelandic movies of 2013-2014.
“The idea to hold the festival was suggested by the embassies of these countries. We already organized a similar event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Astrid Lindgren jointly with the Swedish Embassy. Our cinema house often holds film festivals. For example, we organize a week of francophone films, hold screenings of movies from the program of the Manhattan Short Film Festival, and others. The Italian Embassy has recently asked us to organize a festival of Italian films,” Tatyana Yekomasova explained.
She pointed out that the screenings will be free of charge. Tatyana Yekomasova also said that from 26 March till 8 April the Mir Cinema House will make another present to Vitebsk residents – a unique project of the Russian office of the Walt Disney Company “Happiness is…”
