VITEBSK, 24 April (BelTA) – Vitebsk State Medical University (VSMU) has become the only Belarusian university included into the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2019, BelTA learned from the VSMU website.
The VSMU ranked 301+, together with Okayama University (Japan), Bauman Moscow State Technical University, University of Chemistry and Technology (the Czech Republic), Oviedo University (Spain), University of Ghana, and others. A lot of these universities occupy high positions in other international rankings.
“The rankings assess universities against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, research, outreach, and stewardship,” the website reads.
The list is led by New Zealand’s University of Auckland. Japan is the most represented nation in the table with 41 institutions, followed by the US with 31 and Russia with 30. The rankings include 462 higher education institutions from 76 countries.
The Times Higher Education 2019 rankings have been released since 2004 by the Times magazine. It is one of the three most respected publishers of international university rankings.
