VITEBSK, 11 July (BelTA) – This year, Vitebsk Song Contest 2019 at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will feature representatives of 16 countries, Director of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, director general of the Vitebsk Culture Center Gleb Lapitsky told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Representatives of Cuba and Slovenia have withdrawn due to legal problems and some health issues,” Gleb Lapitsky said.
All the contestants were taken on fascinating excursions the other day. Participants of the senior song contest visited the Independence Palace in Minsk. Representatives of 21 countries competing in the junior song contest visited the Vitba confectionery factory and also went to see the ancient Polotsk. “All said they had incredible impressions,” Gleb Lapitsky added.
This year’s Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk is held on 8-17 July. The opening ceremony and gala concert will take place in the Summer Amphitheater on 11 July. The closing ceremony will take place on 15 July. Additional events have been scheduled for 8-10 July and 16-17 July. The 28th edition of Vitebsk Song Contest will be held in the Summer Amphitheater on 13-14 July (running order draw due on 12 July). The jury will be presided by People’s Artist of Russia and Georgia Tamara Gverdtsiteli.
