MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Belarusian wrestler Vitali Piasniak won gold at the U23 UWW Senior European Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, BelTA has learned.
In the 125kg weight category the Belarusian defeated Kamil Tomasz Kosciolek of Poland, Zuriko Urtashvili of Georgia, then Samhan Jabrailov of Moldova in the semifinal and Yurii Idzinskyi of Ukraine in the final.
The Belarusian finished second in Hungary in 2017.
Dzianis Khramiankou took bronze in the freestyle 97kg competitions in Novi Sad. Aliaksandr Liavonchyk (67kg) and Stanislau Shafarenka (82kg) in the Greco-Roman competitions in Serbia. Anastasiya Zimiankova clinched gold in the women’s 72kg wrestling, while Kseniya Stankevich took bronze in the 50kg event.
