MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Former world number one Victoria Azarenka of Belarus has climbed up 18 positions in the WTA rankings, BelTA informs.
Following the 2018 US Open where the Belarusian beat Slovakia’s Viktoria Kuzmova and Daria Davrilova of Australia to reached the third round, Victoria Azarenka now holds 951 points and 61st place in the WTA rankings.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich improved her standings too, moving up from the 33rd to 30th place in the WTA.
Belarus number one Aryna Sabalenka is 20th with 2,320 points.
2018 US Open winner Naomi Osaka of Japan is currently 7th with 4,115 points. US Open finalist Serena Williams of the United States goes 16th with 2,976 points. Simona Halep of Romania tops the WTA standings with 8,061 points.
