MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – In the run-up to International Women’s Day, wife of the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vera Polyakova-Makei held a traditional meeting with spouses of the heads of diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations on 6 March, BelTA has learned.
Vera Polyakova-Makei cordially welcomed the foreign guests and congratulated them on the forthcoming holiday. She wished them peace, welfare and happiness. The minister’s wife noted that the Belarusian culture is rich in traditions and it is important to show the guests as much as it is possible about it. The festivities, which were held at the National Center of Modern Arts, included an exposition of works from Belarusian artists and a fashion show of Belarusian brands.
Naviband, Belarus’ entry for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, performed songs in Belarusian for the spouses of the heads of diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations.
The spouse of the Ambassador of China to Belarus said that such meetings are always held in a warm atmosphere and got familiar with the Belarusian culture. The wife of the Ambassador of Sweden to Belarus said that she took a great pleasure participating in the meeting, adding that it is a great opportunity to learn about the Belarusian art.
The National Center of Modern Arts is an exposition platform and venue for different events related to modern arts.
