MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Vera Lapko of Belarus has reached the semifinal of the 2016 Australian Open Junior Championships, BelTA informs.

The 17-year-old Belarusian, ranked 533^rd in the world, collected her fourth win in Australia against Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya (World No.597) 7-5, 5-7, 6-2. Vera Lapko goes on to face Sara Tomic of Australia (452) in a bid to get into the final. Slovak’s world No. 563 Tereza Mihalikova will take on Switzerland’s Rebeka Masarova in the other semifinal.

Earlier, the Belarusian beat Michaela Haet of Australia 6-1, 6-4, Jia Ren of China 6-1, 6-4 and Japan’s Chihiro Muramatsu (World No.890) 6-2, 6-3.
