MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ Andrei Vasilevski and Jonathan Erlich of Israel have reached the Open Sud de France doubles semifinal in Montpellier, BelTA has learned.
In the quarterfinal Andrei Vasilevski and Jonathan Erlich battled through David Pel of the Netherlands and Sweden’s Andre Goransson 6-4, 4-6, 10-7. In the opener the Belarusian-Israeli duo saw off the Indian-Slovak tandem of Divij Sharan and Igor Zelenay 7-5, 6-3.
Belarus’ world number 83 Egor Gerasimov solved former world number one and currently world number 121 Andy Murray of the UK 7-6(10-8), 6-1 to reach the second round of the Open Sud de France singles event. The Belarusian will next face Slovenia’s world number 60 Aljaz Bedene for a spot in the quarterfinal.
The tournament in Montpellier will complete on 28 February.
