MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai will visit Belarus on 7-10 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Sport and Tourism Ministry of Belarus.
The program of the visit includes a number of business meetings. The UNWTO head will also take part in the opening of the 18th spring fair of tourism services Recreation 2015 and the international conference “Sustainable tourism for economic development of regions”.
The previous visit of then secretary general of the World Tourism Organization Francesco Frangialli took place in April 2007.
The World Tourism Organization is the United Nation’s leading international organization in the field of tourism which serves as a global forum for the discussion of tourism policy issues and an important source of information. UNWTO’s membership includes 156 countries, six associate members and over 400 affiliate members representing the private sector, educational institutions, tourism associations and local tourism authorities. Belarus joined the UNWTO in June 2005.
