MOSCOW, 8 July (BelTA) – Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will attend the 28th international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk and will present special prizes to participants of the festival, BelTA has learned.
According to the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk makes a noticeable contribution to the process of unification of the nations of Belarus and Russia. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia supports all the initiatives aimed at integration of Belarus and Russia, including the advancement of the dialogue of Slavonic cultures. The annual meetings of artists and their grateful viewers in Vitebsk symbolize the centuries-old friendship of Belarusians and Russians.
The press service reminded that the Union State budget covers some of the cost of financing the festival. A Union State Day has been held as part of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk since 2003. Every year members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia take part in the festival as organizers and guests. The festival’s program includes events involving representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia has instituted two special prizes for participants of the international pop song contest and two special prizes for participants of the international children music contest. MPs will traditionally award the best performers of the pop song contest and the children music contest from Belarus and Russia. The MPs will also attend opening and closing events of the festival, contest concerts to be held as part of the pop song contest and the children music contest, and will take part in the press conference dedicated to the opening of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk.
Following the established tradition, the MPs will also visit social institutions in Vitebsk Oblast. This year they will go to the social shelter for children of the Vitebsk District Social and Pedagogical Center.
Apart from that, the MPs will meet with top officials of the administrations of Vitebsk city districts, will visit education institutions and enterprises in Vitebsk, and will get familiar with the Vitebsk District tourism information center.
