MOSCOW, 3 April (BelTA) – The Union States award in literature and arts for 2017-2018 will be presented at the 27th international festival of arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 12 July, head of the social policy and information department of the Union State Standing Committee Margarita Levchenko at a press conference in Moscow on 3 April, BelTA has learned.
“We expect the signing of the Union State Supreme Council decision in the near future. Then, we will know the winner,” said Margarita Levchenko. The award is traditionally presented by Chairman of the Supreme State Council, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko during the opening ceremony of the festival.
The Union State Day will be marked at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 13 July. The gala concert Union State Invites will feature Sergei Zhilin’s Fonograf Jazz Band, popular singers, finalists of TV music shows and international festivals.
The representative of the Standing Committee stressed that the Union State is a traditional partner of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk. This year almost RUB25 million will be allocated from the Union State budget for the festival.
The 27th international festival of arts Slavianski Bazaar of Vitebsk will be held on 12-16 July. Additional events are also planned for 7-11 and 17-18 July.
