UNESCO clubs to strengthen their role in Belarus’ youth policy

MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs (BelAU) has announced a new project of humanitarian cooperation “UNESCO Clubs in Action” that is to be implemented in all the Belarusian oblasts and in Minsk till the end of the year, BelTA learnt from BelAU Chairman Dmitry Subtselny.

The project is aimed at enhancing the role of UNESCO clubs in carrying out the youth policy at the regional, national and international levels. A number of events are planned to be fulfilled. Among them is an education seminar “BelAU’s role and place in Belarus’ youth policy” for regional coordinators, their assistants and volunteers. Seven inter-sector roundtable sessions timed to International Youth Day will be held in the regions.

Distant consulting is planned for UNESCO clubs to develop partnership and attract local resources for activities under the program, develop new BelAU information products: e-zine Belau.info, translation and dubbing of the film Opportunities for All into English, the organization’s website updating, the development of Youth and UNESCO Clubs section on the organization’s website.

The European Congress of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations in Minsk on 11-13 November will wrap up the events of the project. Partaking in the congress will be delegations of 20 national federations of Europe’s UNESCO clubs, centers and associations, and also partners from the United States, India, China and Kazakhstan.
