MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – The international conference, Sustainable Industrial Development in Middle Income Countries of Europe and Central Asia: Innovations and Technology (Needs, Potential, Proven Experience), will take place in Minsk on 23-24 April, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told media on 16 April, BelTA has learned.
The organizers of the conference are the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the UN Development Program.
According to Dmitry Mironchik, the goal of the conference is to promote mutual trade, initiate the partnership between middle income countries in industrial innovations and create a platform for joint development of innovative small and medium-sized entrepreneurship with the use of experience of experts from UNIDO, UN and other international organizations.
It is expected that meetings will be held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 23 April and in the High-Tech Park on 24 April. The participants of the conference will visit a number of Belarusian companies, including Stadler Minsk, Adani and Game Steam.
Partaking in the conference will be representatives of about 20 countries and three international organizations. The events will be attended by United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Wu Hongbo, UNIDO Director General Li Yong and EEC Member (Minister) for Industry and Agriculture Sergei Sidorsky. It is expected that the program will comprise meetings of UN representatives in the Belarusian government, the Economy Ministry, the Ministry of National Resources and Environment, the National Academy of Sciences and the State Science and Technology Committee.
