MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – The 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships opened with the women’s 10km Individual event for youth at the National Winter Olympic Center Raubichi on 18 February, BelTA has learned.
Ukraine’s Anna Krivonos sealed the victory in 30:09.1, with one penalty. Second was Norway’s Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, 18.8 back with two penalties. Bronze went to Russia’s Yelizaveta Kaplina, 28.7 seconds back, also with two penalties.
Kristina Mazurina of Belarus finished 12th, 2:20.9 back (two penalties). Mazurina’s teammate Darya Blashko was 17th, 3:01.5 back with four penalty minutes. Dinara Alimbekova finished 27th (4:48.2; 8) while Anna Sola was 29th (5:14.9; 9). Both the biathletes have experience of participating in the IBU World Cups among adults.
2014 world champion Julia Schwaiger of Austria crossed the finish line 31st, 5:26 behind the winner with eight penalties.
