MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – Director-General of the Imperial War Museums of the UK Diane Lees has arrived in Belarus on a visit, BelTA learned from Belarus One TV Channel.

On 9 May the UK delegation paid a visit to the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.

The Imperial War Museums of the UK was opened in 1920. With the outbreak of the Second World War, in 1939, the museum staff started collecting materials about this tragic page in the history of mankind. Today, the museum has five branches and an extensive collection of military hardware from the times of the First World War up to the present day. Themed exhibitions of the museum tell the story of military conflicts in different countries.
