MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won two medals at the 2020 European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Kiev. Alina Harnasko clinched the All-Around silver. Bronze went to Anastasiia Salos, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association.
Alina Harnasko was close to securing the champion title after scoring a total of 100,900 points in four events. The Belarusian earned the highest 26,550 points in the routine with Clubs.
Israel’s Linoy Ashram scored the same number of points but surpassed the Belarusian athlete in performance to get the European champion title. Anastasiia Salos scored a total of 96,500 points finishing ahead of Boryana Kaleyn and Katrin Taseva from Bulgaria, Nicol Zelikman from Israel and Ukraine’s Vlada Nikolchenko.
Earlier, Belarusian athletes won three medals at the junior competitions. Gold went to Dina Agisheva, silver and bronze – to Yelizaveta Zorkina.
Athletes from Russia and Italy did not perform in the Ukrainian capital due to the quarantine measures. The European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Kiev featured representatives of 23 national teams. Athletes competed in nine medal events. The next European championships will be held in Varna, Bulgaria on 9-13 June 2021.
