MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Belarus won two medals at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Gyor, BelTA has learned.
Silver went to Georgy Chugoshvili who beat wrestlers from the Czech Republic, Hunagry and Finland in the 130kg qualifying, and the wrestler from Ukraine in the semifinal. In the final Georgy Chugoshvili lost to two-time world champion, 2012 Olympic silver medalist Heiki Nabi of Estonia.
In the 87kg category Belarus’ Radik Kuliev reached semifinal where lost to Bachir Sid Azara from Algeria and then defeated Italy’s Fabio Parisi in the bronze medal event.
The tournament was a qualifying event ahead of the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in Astana.
The Greco-Roman wrestling makes part of the 2nd European Games. The wrestling tournament will take place at the Palace of Sports on 28-30 June 2019.
