MOSCOW, 8 May (BelTA) – Two Belarusians have been honored with Russian state awards together with a number of other non-Russian nationals. The relevant decree of President Vladimir Putin was posted on Russia's official website of legal information on 7 May, BelTA has learned.
Vyacheslav Bondarenko, the host of a program of the Belarus 2 TV Channel, and Ivan Charota, the head of the department of Slavic literature at the Belarusian State University, were awarded the Medal of Pushkin.
The decree reads that the decorations are presented in recognition of their great contribution to the development of friendship ties and the trade, economic, and cultural cooperation with the Russian Federation.
