MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The Tunisian government has made a decision to abolish visas for Belarusian citizens, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told journalists on 19 August, BelTA has learned.
“To enter Tunisia, Belarusians will need valid passports and travel documents. The total duration of stay shall not exceed 90 days,” Dmitry Mironchik specified.
Belarus welcomes the decision of the Tunisian side. “However, it is necessary to note that Tunisia has not lifted emergency rule introduced after two large-scale terrorist attacks. The Tunisian government and military authorities are taking measures to ensure the safety of foreign tourists in resort zones. The risk of terrorist attacks remains high. Tunisia still cannot guarantee one hundred percent security to foreign tourists,” Dmitry Mironchik added.
In connection with the terrorist attacks in Tunisia, on 30 June the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus advised Belarusian tourists to take maximum precautions and to stay away from places of mass gathering. The recommendations remain in force.
