MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – BC Tsmoki Minsk have progressed to the FIBA Europe Cup playoffs, BelTA has learned.
Tsmoki Minsk secured their place with a 68-62 triumph over CSM CSU Oradea at Minsk Falcon Club on 5 February. The host kept the lead of more than 10 points throughout the game. The visiting Romanians retook the lead late in regulation before Maksim Salash responded at the buzzer for his side to go on to take the victory in overtime.
Earlier, Rostislav Vergun’s men defeated CSM CSU Oradea 89-73 on the road. The Dragons also traded victories with Ironi Ness Ziona (Israel) 97-65 (at home) and 75-84 (away), and also with U-BT Cluj Napoca (Romania) 78-76 (at home) and 74-76 (away).
On 5 February Cluj booked a playoff spot with an 82-71 home win against Ironi Ness Ziona.
The Group J final standings: Tsmoki Minsk – 10 points, Cluj – 10, Oradea – 8, Ironi – 8.
Two best teams from each of four groups advance to the quarterfinal.
