MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Krystsina Tsimanouskaya bagged the gold medal in the Women’s 200m at the 30th World Summer Universiade in Napoli, Italy, BelTA has learned.
Krystsina Tsimanouskaya of Belarus trailed in fifth after 100m but came through to win the women's 200m in 22.99. Jessica-Bianca Wessolly of Germany clocked 23.05 to win silver and her Lisa Kwayie finished in 23.11 to clinch bronze.
This is the third medal for Team Belarus in Napoli. Belarusian swimmer Grigori Pekarski won a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly and Yahor Sharamkou silver in the Vault .
The Summer Universiade which is running in Nepali on 3-14 July features about 8,000 athletes from 170 countries who will compete in 222 medal sets. Belarus won nine medals at the previous Summer Universiade in Taipei: three gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
