MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – A Spanish translation of Peace Tower by Belarusian poet Maksim Bahdanovich has been presented in Madrid, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The presentation was held at a bookstore in Madrid. The event was attended by Ambassador of Belarus to France and Spain (on concurrent) Pavel Latushko. He noted that Maksim Bahdanovich was a poetry genius, an eminent figure of Belarusian culture. The translation of the poem Peace Tower is one of the first translations of Maksim Bahdanovich’s works into Spanish. The book illustrated by Monica Gutierrez was published by Cervantes y Compania. The translation was performed by Anastasia Kuzmenko, a Belarusian citizen living in Spain.
Pavel Latushko also spoke of Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich who won the 2015 Nobel Prize in literature. He stressed that several of her novels have been recently translated into Spanish.
