MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Maksim Nedasekau, Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova and Elvira Herman won medals at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting, BelTA has learned.
In the Men’s High Jump Maksim Nedasekau cleared 2.37m to set a new national record and to win the gold medal of the tournament. He was followed by two athletes from Russia, Ilya Ivanyuk and Mikhail Akimenko, who performed in the neutral status. They ended with bests of 2.33m. Ilya Ivanyuk was awarded silver due to fewer attempts.
In the Women's Long Jump, Belarusian Nastassia Mironchyk-Ivanova was third with a result of 6.60m. Silver went to Briton Abigail Irozuru (6.64m). Ukrainian Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk won the event with 6.79m.
Belarusian Elvira Herman clocked 12.67sec in the Women's 100m Final to win silver. Puerto-Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn celebrated the win with 12.34sec. American Gabriele Cunningham was third with 12.75cm.
Belarusian Tatsiana Khaladovich finished in fifth in the Women's Javelin Throw with a result of 56.68m. Lithuanian athlete Liveta Jasiunaite came up a winner with 62.73m. Hanna Malyshchyk of Belarus was sixth in Women's Hammer Throw by clearing 69.68m. Gold went to Polish Anita Wlodarczyk (74.76m).
