MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - The teams of Vitebsk Oblast and Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry won the Minsk Ski Race 2018, BelTA informs.
The best time in the 4x2.5km relay race was showed by representatives of Vitebsk Oblast. At the final fourth stage, the team was represented by Vitebsk Oblast Governor Nikolai Sherstnev spoke for this team. The winners covered the distance in 27 minutes 46 seconds. Crossing the finish line second was the team of Brest Oblast that also included Governor Anatoly Lis. The third place went to the team of the Minsk City Hall.
The team of Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry was victorious in the 4x2.5km relay race among the central offices of the law enforcement agencies. The first to cross the finish line was Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko. Silver went to the team of the Belarus President Security Service, with representatives of the Investigative Committee coming in third.
The awards ceremony featured First Deputy Head of the Belarus’ Presidential Administration Maksim Ryzhenkov, Sports and Tourism Minister Alexander Shamko, and also First Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Vyacheslav Durnov took part in the awards ceremony.
The winter sports festival Minsk Ski Race 2018 took place at the Minsk city ski-track in Vyasnyanka. Apart from the relay races, the program included a 2.5km mass start.
The event was organized by Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Ministry and the Minsk City Hall.
The first Minsk Ski Race was held on 16 February 1968, which was a 15km competition along the Borovaya-Raubichi route. Taking part in the event were 12,000 people.
