MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Switzerland beat China 7-4 in the opener of the 14th Christmas amateur ice hockey tournament for the prize of the President of Belarus. The first goal of the tournament was scored by Swiss forward Pietro Juri, BelTA has learned.

The team of the President of Belarus will take on the United Arab Emirates in the second match in Group A at 19.00.

In the first match of Group B Russia thrashed Balkans Team 19-1. The match Sweden vs Czech Republic will start at 19.30.

The team of the President of Belarus is the ten-time winner of the Christmas international tournament (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017). Team Russia is a three-time champion (2007, 2011 and 2015).
