MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) –A stadium and a children’s playground which were built with the support of Belarus’ Embassy and Belarus’ Honorary Consul in Syria Wael Batal were opened in one of the villages in Syria, BelTA has learned.

The opening ceremony was attended by Damascus Countryside Governor Hussein Makhlouf, Secretary of the Damascus Countryside governorate branch of the Baath Party Humam Haydar, Belarusian Ambassador in Syria Alexander Ponomarev, Honorary Consul Wael Batal and also First Secretary of Belarus’ Communist Party Igor Karpenklo who is in Syria on a working visit.

The stadium for mini football and the playground have been built for children from the camp for internally displaced persons.
