St Petersburg to celebrate Minsk Days on 11-12 September

MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Minsk Days will be celebrated in St Petersburg on 11-13 September. The sides plan to sign a roadmap on trade, economic, sci-tech and cultural cooperation through to 2020, head of the economy committee of the Minsk City Hall Vladimir Naumovich told the media on 4 September, BelTA informs.

Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets is set to meet with St Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko. The Minsk Day program will feature a gala concert of the Presidential Orchestra and Belarusian singers. The parties plan to sign an agreement between the Administration of Minsk’s Frunzensky District and Kurortny District of St Petersburg. Tsentralny District of St Petersburg and Tsentralny District of Minsk will sign a program of cooperation on trade, economic, sci-tech, education and cultural issues for 2019-2020.

On 12 September the Business Cooperation Forum meeting will focus on the trade, economic and investment potential of the capital. Attending the meeting will be OAO Health Initiative, Belorusky Sputnik, Tsentrkurort, Belkommunmash Holding Company, Minskkhlebprom and others. Bellegprom Holding Company will showcase its collection of flax clothes.

A Belarusian fair featuring more than 40 Minsk companies will be deployed in the square near the metro station Prospekt Bolshevikov on 10-16 September.

Other events will include a photo exhibition “Minsk: Revived History” by the Minsk History Museum, friendlies in basketball, volleyball, table tennis and rhythmic gymnastics. Specialists in healthcare and education will hold roundtables and visit relevant agencies.

Vladimir Naumovich noted that the Days of Minsk abroad has become an annual tradition. In 2013-2017 Minsk Days were held in Moscow, Riga, Milan (during Expo 2015), St. Petersburg, Belgrade, Omsk, Moscow.
