MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarusbank headquarters hosted the first day cover ceremony honoring the 95th anniversary of the bank on 20 September, BelTA has learned.
The envelope depicts the Belarusbank headquarters and the anniversary logo of Belarusbank. The circulation of the exclusive envelope with class H stamp will be 20,000 copies. The Class H stamp is used for international written correspondence (letters, parcels, small packages) weighing under 20 grams. The stamped envelope was donated to the museum of Belarusbank.
Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank Viktor Ananich said that the stamped envelopes could reach 192 countries that are partners to the Belarusian postal service in the Universal Postal Union. "It means that the brand of the Belarusian oldest financial institution will become more visible around the world," he noted. "Belarusbank worked its way up from a savings bank to the country’s largest bank with a reputation of a rapidly developing financial institution, reliable market leader and participant of the global financial processes. I am convinced that this year will be remembered as a year of new products, high-quality services and big events," Viktor Ananich added.
Belarusian Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Natalya Gordeyenko wished Belarusbank prosperity and stressed that the anniversary of the bank is a significant event for the Belarusian postal service. “We implement many joint projects and the issue of the stamped envelope will be a gift not only to stamp collectors but also to all the bank employees,” she said.
Belarusbank history dates back to 26 December 1922 when the Council of People’s Commissars of the RSFSR issued a regulation on establishing state savings banks.
