VITEBSK, 9 July (BelTA) - The grand opening of the 24th International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk 2015 will take place at the Summer Amphitheater in Vitebsk on 9 July, BelTA has learned.
On the opening day all venues of the festival will become operational. The press center of the festival will start operating 24/7. The Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee will give a press conference dedicated to the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk. Then there will be the draw of the International Song Contest Vitebsk 2015 at the Fame Alley near the Summer Amphitheater. The same alley will host the opening of the street art festival "In the Seven Winds” at 19.00.
The grand opening concert will begin in the evening on the main stage of the festival and will feature the established artists and young performers from Belarus, Russia, and other countries.
The 9 July program also features Theatrical Meeting 2015 (The Russian company FIT will present a satirical show at the Kolas National Academic Drama Theater) and a concert by the male choir of the Moscow Sretensky Monastery conducted by Russia’s Honored Artist Nikon Zhila.
The Union State has scheduled its first activities for 9 July including the third Belarusian-Russian plein air of young artists and journalists in Vitebsk District, visits to war memorials, a commemorative meeting to honor the memory of the Fatherland defenders. After lunch the guests will go on a tour to Zdravnevo, Ilya Repin’s Museum-Manor, which, according to the established tradition, will host the plein air of young artists.
