MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – About 150 athletes from over 30 countries will take part in the Minsk Arena Ice Star figure staking competition in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The event is scheduled for 18-21 October. Minsk will host this competition for the seventh time already. It will be a kind of test in the run-up to the ISU European Figure Skating Championship that will take place in Minsk Arena in January 2019. Medals will be awarded in four disciplines: ladies’ singles, men’s singles, pair skating and ice dancing. The tournament will bring together experienced athletes and juniors.
The inaugural Ice Star event was held in 2012. The competition is included in the official calendar of the International Skating Union. The event is organized by the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry, Skating Union of Belarus and the Minsk Arena.
