MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Denis Ignatok of Belarus won silver at the 2017 European Sambo Cup in Madrid, BelTA has learned.

In the -100kg final the Belarusian was defeated by Russia’s Denis Bakanov. Bronze went to France’s Antony Segard and Spain’s Cristian Rodriguez.

In the European Sambo Cup team competitions Russians ranked first and were followed by Spain and France. Belarusians did not take part in this section.

The 2017 World Sambo Championships will kick off in Sochi, Russia on 8 November 2017. Over 800 athletes from 94 countries will take part in the competitions.
