Shanghai to host Minsk Days on 7-9 November

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Minsk Days will be held in Shanghai on 7-9 November. An official Belarusian delegation led by Minsk Deputy Mayor Aleksandr Krepak is set to visit Shanghai, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.

The delegation will visit the DeepBlue Technology company based in Changning District of Shanghai. The company carries out research and develops products in artificial intelligence, including smart vehicles, smart environmental protection technology, and smart city technology. On the first day of the visit, the delegation of the Belarusian capital will study the administration of the education system, delivery of health care, social care and rehabilitation services in Shanghai.

The Minsk-Shanghai business forum is scheduled for 8 November. Top on the agenda will be contacts between the two cities, advanced technology, investment potential, and tourism. Nine Belarusian enterprises will take part in the 2nd China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The Belarusian pavilion will showcase products of the Kommunarka confectionery factory, Minsk Grape Wines Factory, the Krinitsa brewery, the Slodych confectionery factory, the Minsk Kristall distillery, Minsk Group of Bread Products, the Minskhlebprom bakery company, and Minsk Refrigerating Plant No.2.

Moreover, plans are in place to sign a twin-town agreement between Minsk and Shanghai as well as a memorandum of cooperation between the administrations of Moskovsky District of Minsk and Jiading District of Shanghai. Minsk has already signed 22 cooperation agreements with Chinese cities, three of which are twin-town agreements (with Beijing, Changchun, and Shenzhen).

The Belarusian delegation will also attend roundtables on enhancing cooperation in healthcare, education, and social security and get familiar with activities of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park.

The agenda of the visit also includes cultural events, such as the solemn opening ceremony of Minsk Days in Shanghai. The Shanghai Conservatory of Music will host the photo exhibition A Journey to Minsk. The choir of the Belarusian State Academy of Music will give a concert during Minsk Days.
