MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - A series of books about the Belarusian diasporas will be published in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry.
The Publishing House Zvyazda was named winner in the competition for implemnting one of the projects of the subprogram “Belarusians in the world” under the state program “Culture of Belarus” in 2016-2020. The Publishing House Zvyazda has suggested publishing a series of books dedicated to the Belarusian Diaspora.
According to the publishing house, the first book in the series by Alexander Karlyukevich will be released in January 2017. The book will tell about the natives of Belarus who have proven themselves in Russia in different walks of life: science, culture, education, etc. In addition, the book will tell the stories about the Russians who are somehow connected with Belarus. The book is about the interpenetration of cultures, the relations between the fraternal countries, the publishing house noted.
The series will include several books about the Belarusians in Russia, Ukraine and the Baltic states. The series will rediscover many names that have been unjustly forgotten, the publishing house said.
