MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Serbia President Tomislav Nikolic visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War on 20 November, BelTA has learned.
The Serbian head of state got acquainted with the exposition of the museum which is the largest depository of Great Patriotic War relics and one of the main centers for patriotic education in the country.
Tomislav Nikolic made an entry in the book of distinguished guests to express gratitude to the people of Belarus for their heroic contribution to the victory over fascism. Belarus preserves the memory of the soldiers who died defending it and teaches its young citizens to be proud of the heroism of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers who gave their lives for the cause of a peaceful future, the entry reads.
Tomislav Nikolic is on an official visit in Belarus from 18 through 20 November. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and the Serbia President held one-on-one meetings and then with broader participation. The leaders signed a joint statement.
