MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) –The Second Youth Theater Forum of the CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia which opened in Minsk on 19 November will announce the winners tonight, 26 November. The program "Theatrical Sound" will be held in the evening at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, BelTA has learned.
Competing are theater companies from 13 countries: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Estonia. Belarus was represented by the Hamlet production of the Mogilev regional puppet theater (director Igor Kazakov).
The professional jury is headed by Russian stage director Grigory Kozlov.
Productions were shown at four venues in the Belarusian capital: the Maksim Gorky National Academic Drama Theater, Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater, the Belarusian children's theater, Republican Theater of Belarusian Drama.
The Youth Theater Forum of the CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia was conceived (originally the idea belongs to the International Confederation of Theatrical Unions) as a project to showcase the best performances produced by young directors on the post-Soviet territory. The age of participants should not exceed 35.
The Second Youth Theater Forum of the CIS countries, Baltic states and Georgia was held in Minsk by the decision of the International Confederation of Theatrical Unions, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and the culture Ministry of Belarus. The organizers also include the Minsk City Hall and the Republican Theater of Belarusian Drama.
