Sasnovich victorious in Mutua Madrid qualifying opener

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – The Mutua Madrid Open qualifying action has kicked off on the open clay courts of Madrid, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ world number 92 Aliaksandra Sasnovich solved Spain’s world number 640 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 in the first qualifying round.

The Belarusian will next face Germany’s world number 59 Laura Siegemund for a spot in the main draw.

The tournament in the Spanish capital will be over on 8 May.
