MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – Belarusian world number 46 Aliaksandra Sasnovich went off to a good start at the Miami Open 2018, BelTA informs.

Aliaksandra Sasnovich saw off Czech number 80 Kristyna Pliskova 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 in the opener.

Victoria Azarenka, who is currently ranked 186 in the world, will take on World No.44 Catherine Bellis of the United States. Belarus’ world number 60 Aryna Sabalenka will play U.S. Madison Brengle (World No.77).

Vera Lapko, world number 135, lost 6-7 (1-7), 2-6 to Germany’s world number 111 Andrea Petkovic in the second qualifying round.
