Sasnovich into St Petersburg Open round of 16

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 71 Aliaksandra Sasnovich went off to a good start at St Petersburg Open beating Poland’s world number 45 Magda Linette, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, in two hours 24 minutes, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian will next face world number 58 Jaqueline Cristian of Romania.

In the doubles opener Belarus’ Lidziya Marozava and Kaitlyn Christian will face Slovakia-Norway duo Victoria Kuzmova and Ulrikke Eikeri.

The tournament in St Petersburg will be over on 13 February.
