Sabalenka remains 2nd in WTA after US Open win

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka remained No.2 in the WTA rankings following her victory at the US Open, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian with 8,716 points goes behind Poland’s Iga Swiatek. US Open finalist Jessica Pegula rose to No.3. Belarus’ Victoria Azarenka moved to 19th, while Aliaksandra Sasnovich sits at No.103.

WTA Top Ten:

1. Iga Swiatek (Poland) – 10,885 points;
2. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) – 8,716; 
3. Jessica Pegula (USA) – 6,220; 
4. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) – 5,871;
5. Jasmine Paolini (Italy) – 5,398;
6. Coco Gauff (USA) – 4,983;
7. Qinwen Zheng (China) – 3,980;
8. Emma Navarro (USA) – 3,810;
9. Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) – 3,631;

Jannik Sinner of Italy, the US Open winner, tops the ATP rankings. US Open finalist Taylor Fritz rose from the 12th to the 7th place. Egor Gerasimov of Belarus goes 257th.
