Sabalenka reaches ‘s-Hertogenbosch semifinal

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) - Belarus’ world number 6 Aryna Sabalenka has reached the ‘s-Hertogenbosch semifinal solving Belgium’s world number 46 Alison Van Uytvanck, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), in two hours and five minutes, BelTA has learned.

Aryna Sabalenka will next play either world number 42 Shelby Rogers of the United States or Belgium’s Kirsten Flipkens (World No.308).

In the opener the Belarusian saw off world number 142 Kateryna Baindl of Ukraine, 6-4, 6-1. Aryna Sabalenka beat Arianne Hartono (World No.172) of the Netherlands, 6-2, 6-3, in the second round.

Belarus’ world number 40 Ilya Ivashka will face Russia’s world number 2 Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinal. Earlier, the Belarusian defeated world number 51 Mackenzie McDonald of the United States, 6-3, 6-7 (8-10), 6-1 and Finland’s world number 62 Emil Ruusuvuori, 6-4, 6-2.

The tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch will be over on 12 June.
