Sabalenka progresses to China Open third round

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – World number one Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus solved  world number 56 Katie Boulter of the UK, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2), to reach the China Open third round, BelTA has learned.

The match lasted for two hours and 32 minutes.

The Belarusian will next face world number 36 Jasmine Paoline of Italy for a spot in the quarterfinal. In the opener Aryna Sabalenka cruised past world number 31 Sofia Kenin of the United States, 6-1, 6-2.

The event in the Chinese capital will be over on 8 October.
