MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) — Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka goes 8th in the WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.
Before the start of the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open, Aryna Sabalenka ranked 7th. At the Melbourne Park she reached the women’s singles round of Last 16 and dropped one spot with a total of 4,810 points. Aryna Sabalenka and Belgium’s Elise Mertens topped the chart after winning the doubles event in Melbourne. Australian Open champion Naomi Osana of Japan moved up to the second. Belarus’ Victoria Azarenka is 14th (3,535 points) , Aliaksandra Sasnovich is 96th (838 points), Olga Govortsova is 138th (572 points).
