MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus goes 15th in the current WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.
Last week, ahead of the 2018 Tianjin Open, the Belarusian was 11th. She went down four spots following the quarterfinal defeat.
Three more Belarusian players have made it to the WTA Top 100: Aliaksadnra Sasnovich is 31st, Victoria Azarenka is 56th, and Vera Lapko is 62nd.
Romania’s Simona Halep tops the WTA chart, with Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark and Germany’s Angelique Kerber going second and third respectively.
This week Aliaksandra Sasnovich will play at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. She will open the tournament against Romania’s world number 25 Mihaela Buzarnescu. In the men’s doubles event Belarus’ Max Mirnyi will pair with Philipp Oswald of Austria.
In the opener of the tournament in Luxemburg Vera Lapko will take on German Carina Witthoft.
