MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) – By the next Independence Day Sberbank will build an educational water fountain with lights and music in Minsk. President, Chairman of the Board of PAO Sberbank of Russia German Gref made the relevant statement after meeting with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 16 July, BelTA has learned.
The Sberbank head said: “Sberbank has come up with a new technology to combine light, sound, water, and image with an educational function. We put a lot of efforts into education. And we’ve come up with an educational fountain with lights and music.”
According to German Gref, edutainment is getting more and more popular in the world. “We’ve made several fountains of the kind [in Russia] and have interesting experience. Residents of those cities demonstrate a very strong interest in them. Aleksandr Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] learned about them and asked us to create such a fountain in Minsk. He and I agreed today that a presidential decree will be issued and we will go all out to implement this project here in Minsk next year by Belarus’ Independence Day,” German Gref said.
In his words, the location for the fountain has already been selected but he could not specify it because he does not know Minsk well.
The first multimedia fountain was built in Petergof in 2018 at Sberbank’s expense. Seven fountains of the kind are now used in Russia – in Saratov, Petergof, Yaroslavl, Kaliningrad, Vladimir, Ryazan, and Voronezh.
The light-and-music fountains are fitted with laser-powered video projection systems. Any image can be projected onto large sheets of water, allowing the fountain to be used for educational purposes.
