MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is the most effective national leader at defending interests of his country according to an opinion poll on the website of the Russian regional news agency Altair, BelTA has learned.
The opinion poll was launched on 8 May. Visitors were asked to decide what foreign leader was most effective at protecting interests of his or her country.
China President Xi Jinping topped the chart initially, but Alexander Lukashenko went ahead of him later on. The advantage of the Belarusian head of state grew steadily afterwards.
As a result the Belarus president scored 29.9% of the votes. Xi Jinping came second with 18.7%. The North Korean leader Kim Jong-un came third with 13.5% of the votes.
U.S. President Donald Trump won 7.2% of the votes and came fourth. The option “Someone else” received 6.2% of the votes.
