MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – The Russian Drama Theater of Lithuania, Vilnius will tour to Minsk in September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater.
A production based on Pavel Sanayev’s Bury Me Behind the Baseboard directed by Agnius Jankevicius will be performed on 18 September.
Pavel Sanayev’s novel was adapted for the stage by Marius Macevicius. The play is designed for adult audiences. It tells a moving story about childhood and relations between people.
The production by Agnius Jankevicius won the Audience Choice Award at the International Theater Festival in Rokiskis, Lithuania. Inga Mashkarina was named Best Female Actress. In 2010, the theatrical production was awarded the main prize at the Dalia Tamuleviciute Professional Theater Festival.
The Russian Drama Theater of Lithuania is the only state Russian-language theater in the country. It is a frequent guest in Belarus and a regular participant of theater festivals in Minsk, Grodno, Brest, Mogilev and other Belarusian cities.
